Unit Two
Modeling Functions

The concept of a “function” in mathematics was founded during the earliest stages of Algebra and Calculus. Isaac Newton and Gottfried Leibniz would work through the 17th century to place functions at the forefront of nearly all fields of advanced mathematics and science. Understanding how functions are described and used in modeling is now a critical skill-set for all contemporary scientists. As you continue developing as member of today’s leading scholars, modeling the observable with meaningful interpretations will be a minimum expectation.
